In this English lesson I will help you learn some English words and phrases that you can use to describe tough times in life, and that you can use to encourage someone who is going through tough times.
Life can be rough. Things can happen that we aren’t expecting that make us unsure about the future. In this English lesson I’ll go over some things you’ll need to know to understand someone who is talking about tough times and how to speak about tough times yourself.
I wish you and your loved ones all the best in this crazy time.
⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

Hi Bob, it's good to see and hear you. Let me give you some updates in Hong Kong. The government has urged people to stay at home as much as possible, but the city has not been locked down, people are still free to move around. However, more stringent measures have been put in place in an attempt to contain the virus. No gathering of more than 4 persons is allowed, so if you are in HK, you will not be allowed to go outside with your whole family. Cinemas, karaokes, fitness centers, beauty parlours are closed. Restaurants shall operate at 50% of the capacity as stipulated in their licences, tables shall be set at least 1.5m apart and each table shall serve no more than 4 customers.
